Job Role

Role Purpose: The Marketing Assistant will support the Marketing Manager in implementing  campaigns, managing promotional activities, and contributing to the overall marketing strategy. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone eager to develop their marketing skills in a dynamic and community-focused environment.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

·         Campaign Support: Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing marketing campaigns across digital, print, and in-store channels.

·         Content Creation: Write and edit copy for social media, email newsletters, brochures, and advertisements, ensuring consistency with the Coop’s brand tone.

·         Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of events, such as community engagement activities and promotional launches.

·         Data Management: Help maintain the marketing database and analyse campaign performance metrics to inform future strategies.

·         Social Media Management: Schedule and monitor posts across the Coop’s social media platforms, responding to comments and engaging with followers.

·         Digital Platforms: Assist in updating website and app content, ensuring accuracy and relevancy.

·         Supplier Liaison: Work with external partners, including graphic designers, printers, and media outlets, to deliver marketing materials on time and within budget.

·         Brand Compliance: Ensure all marketing materials align with the Coop’s brand guidelines and values.

·         Administrative Support: Manage marketing-related invoices, maintain records, and coordinate team schedules.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

  •  A passion for marketing and community-focused initiatives
  •  Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with design tools such as Canva.
  •  An eye for detail and creativity in crafting compelling campaigns.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive approach

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite).
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and email marketing software.
  • Interest in environmental and community-based initiatives
